RUS-ART: Graphics: Predein

Nikolay Petrovich Predein, sculptor and graphic artist, was born in the Urals in 1951. I graduated from the Sverdlovsk Art School in 1986. I became a member of the Union of Artist of Russia in 1997. I've participated in a considerable number of exhibition of different levels, both federal and regional. A number of my worksof art were bought by the Museum of Writers of the Urals, Philosophy and Law Institute of the Ural Branch of the Academy of Sciences of Russia, "Ester" Gallery, "Lev" Corporation, "White Gallery (Belaya Galeraya)" which organized my first personal exhibition. My works are being bought for private collection in Ekaterinburg, St. Peterburg, Budarest, Chicago, Tokyo, Cologne. One of the latest works is a "Casta Diva" gold statue (Russian Opera Premium.

Main series inspirited by the great art epochs: "Roman Portrait", "Stone babas (women", "Paleolithic Venuses", works associated with the motives of Ancient Russia, Egypt, Etruscans. My main interest recently lines in the idea of Plasticity. The Idea of Plasticity acts a formula preserving and at the same time, combining the sacral meaning of the object and its utilitarian aim. That's where lies the fine sublimity of such objects as a cook (staff), an ax, a comb, a cross, a wheel, a sickle. Each is in a way, eternal plastic truth, which since ancient times exists in the objects of everyday life and in the objects of Cult. I believe, these objects must be present by all means in the objects of Culture, as they personify eternal truth in the works of any artist and justify the existence of the work of art itself.
