Veniamin Leontievich Metenkov (1857-1933) was a founder of
photography in Urals. He started his business in Ekaterinburg in 1896 by setting a
photo-studio. He did much to introduce Ural's beauty and life of contemporaries. A great
collection of his photoes includes excellent landscapes and pictures of Ekaterinburg at
the time. At present we've got a museum devoted to Metenkov and his
activities. It is situated in Ekaterinburg in a house where former Metenkov's studio used
to be.
